SAFETY CAMPAIGNS # 008, # 009-
SONATA HOOD STRIKER AND COOLANT HOSE CLAMP
Campaign Description
CAMPAIGN DESCRIPTION
# 008 CONDITION
The spring clamp on the coolant bypass hose may contact and damage the engine fuel supply hose. If this occurs over time, fuel could leak from the
hose.
# 008 CORRECTION
Rotate the spring clamp so that it cannot contact the fuel supply hose. The fuel supply hose between the fuel filter and delivery pipe will also be
inspected and replaced, if damaged.
# 009 CONDITION
This campaign involves a sticking lever on the secondary hood latch striker. Because of this condition, if the primary hood latch is released or if the hood
is not completely closed, it is possible that the hood could open while the vehicle is in motion.
# 009 CORRECTION
Replacement of the hood latch striker assembly.
VEHICLES AFFECTED
All 1989 and early 1990 model year Sonatas.
