INSTRUCTIONS FOR DRIVELINE BUMP BETWEEN 2-100
MPH
DESCRIPTION:
Some 2003-2004 Sonata vehicles with 2.4L and 2.7L engines (see affected VINs and production dates below) may experience a mild, one-time driveline
bump when accelerating from a stop after the vehicle has been parked for more than one hour.
The driveline bump will be felt as one, two or three successive bumps between 2-10 mph and will occur only once for each driving cycle. The driveline
bump will not occur after the engine and transaxle are at normal operating temperature.
This bulletin provides the procedure to reprogram the Transaxle Control Module (TCM) software in 2003-2004 Sonata vehicles with 2.4L and 2.7L
engines using the Hi-Scan Pro.
