Brake Master Cylinder: Service and Repair
Removal and Installation

1.
Disconnect electrical connector from fluid level switch, if equipped, Fig. 3.
2.
Disconnect brake lines from master cylinder and plug open ports.
3.
Remove master cylinder mounting nuts, disconnect proportioning valve mounting bracket, if equipped, then remove master cylinder from vehicle.
4.
Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
a. Tighten master cylinder mounting nuts and brake lines to specifications.
b. Check brake booster push rod clearance, and adjust if necessary.

Disconnect connector from fluid level switch, Fig. 5.
2.
Remove line nuts then detach brake lines from master cylinder. Do not remove proportioning valves from cylinder.
3.
Remove master cylinder.
4.
Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
a. Tighten master cylinder mounting nuts and brake lines to specifications.
