Steering Gear: Service and Repair
Removal/Instalation
1.
Raise and support vehicle.
2.
Drain power steering fluid, then disconnect pressure hose and return tube.
3.
Using tie rod end puller 09568-31000 or equivalent disconnect tie rod end from knuckle arm.
4.
Remove center member and tighten front muffler assembly.
5.
Remove stabilizer bar, then the steering gear box mounting brackets.
6.
Remove steering gear box assembly together with mounting rubber. Move rack to the right, then remove steering gear from crossmember.
7.
Reverse procedure to install.
