SPIRAL CABLE

Removal and Installation

WARNING:
-

Before servicing, turn ignition switch OFF, disconnect battery negative terminal and wait 3 minutes or more.

-

Never use the air tools or the electric tools for servicing.

REMOVAL
1. Remove the driver air bag module.  See: Air Bag/Service and Repair/Driver Air Bag Module/Removal and Installation.
2. Remove the steering wheel.  See: Steering and Suspension/Steering/Steering Wheel/Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement/Removal and

Installation.

3. Remove the steering column cover.  See: Body and Frame/Interior Moulding / Trim/Dashboard / Instrument Panel/Service and Repair/Exploded

View.

4. Disconnect the spiral cable body side harness connectors (A) and the steering angle sensor harness connector (B).
5. Remove the spiral cable fixing screws.

6. Remove the spiral cable side pawls (LH/RH) with flat-bladed screw driver (A).

Triangle : Pawl

7. Pull the spiral cable and steering angle sensor out forward.

CAUTION:

-

Never impact the spiral cable.
