Front Cross-Member: Service and Repair
Removal and Installation

FRONT SUSPENSION MEMBER

Removal and Installation

REMOVAL
1. Remove tire with power tool.
2. At first, remove the following parts as a set.
-

Engine, transmission assembly, transfer and front final drive: refer to See: Engine, Cooling and Exhaust/Engine/Service and Repair/Removal and
Replacement/Engine Assembly/Removal and Installation (VQ35HR), See: Engine, Cooling and Exhaust/Engine/Service and Repair/Removal and
Replacement/Engine Assembly/Removal and Installation (VK50VE).

Drive shaft: refer to See: Transmission and Drivetrain/Drive Axles, Bearings and Joints/Axle Shaft Assembly/Service and Repair/Removal and
Replacement/Front Drive Shaft/Exploded View.

3. Remove the following parts.
-

Steering knuckle and wheel hub and bearing assembly: refer to See: Wheel Hub/Service and Repair/Front Wheel Hub and Knuckle/Exploded
View.

-

Steering gear assembly and hydraulic line: refer to See: Steering/Steering Gear/Service and Repair/Exploded View,  (VQ35HR), (VK50VE).

-

Stabilizer bar and stabilizer connecting rod: refer to See: Stabilizer Bar/Service and Repair/Front Stabilizer/Exploded View.

-

Transverse link: refer to See: Control Arm/Service and Repair/Transverse Link/Exploded View.

-

Engine mount insulator: refer to See: Engine, Cooling and Exhaust/Engine/Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement/Engine
Assembly/Exploded View (VQ35HR), See: Engine, Cooling and Exhaust/Engine/Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement/Engine
Assembly/Exploded View(VK50VE).

INSTALLATION
Note the following, and install in the reverse order of removal.
-

Perform final tightening of bolts and nut at the vehicle installation position (rubber bushing), under unladen condition with tires on level ground.
