Brake Caliper: Service and Repair
Rear

Removal and Installation

1.

Remove parking brake cable mounting bracket bolt and lock spring.

2.

Remove brake assembly attaching bolts and lower caliper mounting bolt.

3.

Disconnect brake hose and remove remaining caliper mounting bolt.

4.

Remove caliper.

5.

Reverse procedure to install. Torque to specifications and bleed brake system.

Disassembly and Reassembly

Refer to Fig. 3 for following procedure.

1.

Remove caliper from vehicle.

2.

Remove piston by turning it counterclockwise with suitable long nose pliers.

3.

Pry off ring A from piston with suitable pliers and remove adjusting nut.

4.

Disassemble cylinder body as follows:
