ANTI-LOCK WARNING LIGHT ON, WIRE HARNESS DAMAGED

SERVICE INFORMATION:

Some G20 owners may complain that the Anti-Lock (ABS) Warning Light remains on. On-Board self-diagnosis may indicate one or more trouble areas.
If replacement of the indicated component does not resolve the warning light activation, a damaged wire harness may be the cause of the incident.

SERVICE PROCEDURE:

1.

Perform On-Board Self-Diagnosis while the Anti-Lock (ABS) Warning Light remains on, as described on Page BR-51 of the Service Manual.
Based on the trouble code shown, inspect the system, using the appropriate diagnostic procedures.

2.

When performing resistance checks, if the ohm value is different when testing at the component connector, as compared to testing the same circuit
at the ABS Control Unit connector, check the wire harness for damage (Figure 1), see Step # 3.

3.

Beginning at the ABS Control Unit, inspect the harness routing. Pay particular attention to the harness in the areas identified in Figure 1.
