    The outer joint cannot be disassembled. If faulty, replace as a complete unit.

1.

Before separating outer joint assembly, scribe matching marks on driveshaft and joint assembly.

2.

Separate joint assembly with a suitable sliding hammer. Fig. 6. Use caution not to damage threads on driveshaft.

3.

Cover splines with tape to protect boot. Remove boot.

SUPPORT BEARING

1.

Remove inner and outer dust shields.

2.

Pry off snap ring, then press support bearing off of driveshaft. Fig. 7.

3.

Press support bearing out of retainer. Fig. 8.
