Front Steering Knuckle: Service and Repair

CAUTION:  Before removing the front axle assembly, disconnect the ABS wheel sensor from the assembly. Then, move it away from the front axle
assembly area. Failure to do so may result in damaging the sensor wires and the sensor will become inoperative.

REMOVAL

1. Remove brake caliper assembly and rotor.

NOTE:  Brake hose need not be disconnected from brake caliper. Be careful not to depress brake pedal, or piston will pop out. Do not pull or
twist brake hose.

2. Remove wheel hub from spindle.
3. Remove baffle plate.
4. Remove knuckle spindle.
