Axle Shaft: Service and Repair
Axle Shaft, Halfshaft U-Joint Type

1.

Remove bolts securing slide joint housing, Fig. 1, to rear hub assembly.

2.

Disconnect drive shaft from final drive by prying with a suitable tool. Fig 2.

3.

Ensure circular clip is properly meshed with side gear and will not come out of differential.

4.

Carefully remove driveshaft from vehicle.
