Valve Cover: Service and Repair

ROCKER COVER
Removal and Installation
REMOVAL
1. Remove engine room cover (RH and LH). Refer to See: Service and Repair/Engine Cover/Component.
2. Remove engine cover. Refer to See: Intake Manifold/Service and Repair/Intake Manifold Collector/Component See: Intake Manifold/Service and
Repair/Intake Manifold Collector/Removal and Installation.
3. Remove intake manifold collector. Refer to See: Intake Manifold/Service and Repair/Intake Manifold Collector/Component See: Intake
Manifold/Service and Repair/Intake Manifold Collector/Removal and Installation.
4. Separate engine harness removing their brackets from rocker covers.
5. Remove ignition coil. Refer to See: Powertrain Management/Ignition System/Ignition Coil/Service and Repair/Component See: Powertrain
Management/Ignition System/Ignition Coil/Service and Repair/Removal and Installation.
5. Remove ignition coil. Refer to See: Powertrain Management/Ignition System/Ignition Coil/Service and Repair/Component See: Powertrain
Management/Ignition System/Ignition Coil/Service and Repair/Removal and Installation.
6. Remove camshaft position sensor and exhaust valve timing control position sensor.
CAUTION:
-
Handle carefully to avoid dropping and shocks.

Never disassemble.
-
Never allow metal powder to adhere to magnetic part at sensor tip.
-
Never place sensors in a location where they are exceed to magnetism.
7. Remove PCV hoses from rocker covers.
8. Remove PCV valve and O-ring from rocker cover, if necessary.
9. Remove oil filler cap from rocker cover, if necessary.
10. Loosen mounting bolts with power tool in reverse order as shown in the figure.
