Variable Valve Timing Actuator Position Sensor: Description and Operation
COMPONENT DESCRIPTION
The intake valve timing control position sensor is located rearmost of the left-bank cylinder head. This sensor detects a signal (intake valve
position) generated by the cutout portion of camshaft and sends it to the ECM (ECCS control module). This sensor is not used to control the
engine system. It is used only for the on board diagnosis of intake valve timing control.
