Fuel Pump Control Module: Testing and Inspection

COMPONENT INSPECTION 

FPCM 

With Consult 

1. Start engine and let it idle,
2. Perform "FPCM" in "ACTIVE TEST" mode with CONSULT.
3. Check the following.

-

When selecting "HI", "FPCM DR VOLT" indicates approximately 0 V.

-

When selecting "LOW", "FPCM DR VOLT" indicates approximately 4.4 V.

4. If NG, replace FPCM.

OR 

Without Consult 

1. Start engine and warm it up sufficiently.
2. Turn ignition switch "OFF" and wait at least 5 seconds.
3. Start engine and let it idle.
4. Check voltage between terminals (1) and (2).

Within 30 seconds of starting engine:

Approximately 0V

More than 30 seconds after starting engine: 

Approximately 4.4V 

5. If NG, replace FPCM.
