SERVICE INFORMATION
If a 1998-99 QX4 exhibits either of the symptoms listed below, the cause may be a severed/broken 4WD solenoid valve ground wire.

4WD warning lamp flashes three times and then stays on continuously each time the vehicle is started
^
The wheels seem to bind or drag when making turns
Use the following service procedure to resolve the incident.

Submit a Primary Failed Part (PP) line using the claims coding.
Service Procedure
1.
Confirm the 4WD warning lamp is on and the vehicle is in 2WD mode.
2.
Confirm if the following conditions exist:

4WD warning lamp flashes three times and then stays on continuously each time the vehicle is started
^
"Duty Solenoid Failure" DTC is stored
A.
If the conditions listed above do not occur, look for other causes of the incident.
B.
If either one of the conditions listed above occur, proceed with step 3.
