Use the screwdriver to carefully pry up one end of the rubber bumper on the roof rack bar (see Figure 3).

Once pryed up, pull up on the rubber bumper (see figure 4).

Continue pulling up the rubber bumper until it is completely removed from the roof rack bar (see Figure 5)

6.

Look at the end (cross section) of the rubber bumper and determine which is the "short" side of the bumper (see Figure 6).
