VERIFY BRAKE FLUID LEAK

1.

Raise the vehicle to gain access to the brake caliper.

2.

Using Brake and Clutch cleaner clean the affected caliper thoroughly to remove traces of fluid.

3.

Allow caliper to dry.

4.

Lower vehicle.

5.

Start the engine.

6.

Apply steady brake pressure until the pedal stops moving.

7.

Maintain brake pressure for ten seconds.

8.

Release the brake pedal and repeat steps 6-7 for a total of 10 application and release cycles.

9.

Switch the engine "OFF".

10.

Raise the vehicle to gain access to the brake caliper.

11.

Check caliper for any signs of brake fluid around seal.

12.

If no brake fluid leak is detected, return vehicle to customer.

13.

If a brake fluid leak is detected, refer to GTR section  06-04 (70.55.03) and install a new rear brake caliper.
