Interior Mirror Compass - Compass Reading Incorrectly - Reroute Wiring

Issue:

Some S-TYPE vehicles equipped with the interior mirror compass may exhibit a condition where the compass is functioning but reading incorrectly.

Cause:

Interference from nearby wiring.

Action:

In case of a customer complaint of incorrect compass indication, reroute the interior mirror wiring as outlined below.

1.

Remove the auto-dimming interior mirror (see Global Technical Reference GTR Workshop Manual, section 501-09).

Note:

No wires should cross over the compass circuit board. Each set of wires should be routed as a twisted pair for maximum effect.

2.

Reroute the wires around the edge of the plastic casing.

3.

Install the auto-dimming interior mirror (see Global Technical Reference GTR Workshop Manual, section 501-09).
