Rain Sensing Wipers - Remove Diode/Install 5 Amp Fuse - Service Action S164

Issue:

A concern has been identified on a number of 2005 S-TYPE vehicles within the above VIN range. Vehicles equipped with rain sensing wiper control
may mistakenly have a diode installed in location D1 of the front power distribution fuse box (located in the engine compartment) instead of the 5 amp
fuse that should be in this location.

Action:

Use DDW to determine vehicle eligibility prior to confirming work requirements as some vehicles within the above VIN range have been reworked prior
to dispatch. DDW has been updated so that only those vehicles still affected by this Service Action will be displayed.

All unsold vehicles must be reworked before retail sale.

Vehicles in the hands of a customer should be repaired at the earliest opportunity.

If a diode is present in location D1, Illustration 1, replace it with a 5 amp fuse. If a 5 amp fuse is present, no further action is required.

At the time of confirming the appointment for vehicle repair or service, please ensure that all outstanding Field Service Actions are identified to ensure
the correct parts are available and adequate workshop time is allocated for repairs to be completed at one visit.
