REPAIR PROCEDURE
UPDATE DRIVELINE TO LATEST SPECIFICATION
NOTE:
It is important to perform research on previous repairs and to inspect vehicle driveline components to verify the current condition of the
vehicle.
NOTE:
The latest level driveshaft can be identified by a diameter reduction in the tube ([B] Figure 1) approximately 150 mm (6 inches) from the
rubber coupling at the differential end of the shaft. Earlier configuration parts have a straight rear tube. ([A] Figure 1)
1.
Inspect to determine if the vehicle has a new configuration driveshaft installed. ([B] in Figure 1)
NOTE:
Global Technical Reference (GTR) lookup sequence is as follows:
GTR Home > NAS > X200 S-TYPE / Service Information/ 2006 > Workshop Manuals > Bookmark "Chassis/Driveline/205-01 Drive Shaft"
LINK "Removal and Installation Driveshaft (47.15.01)"
2.
If the old style drive shaft is installed ([A] in Figure 1), refer to GTR Workshop Manual, section 205-01 (47.15.01) and install a new configuration
driveshaft.
