FUEL FILLER FLAP MODIFICATION

KEY POINTS:

STRENGTHENED FILLER DOOR HINGE AND REVISED PLUNGER

To improve the operation of the fuel filler flap, a strengthened hinge and revised plunger with radiused edge has been introduced. The replacement hinge
is black powder coated to match those being installed on production commencing from VIN 529906.

Installation Procedure:

1.

Remove the filler cap and cover the tank opening with a clean cloth.

2.

Remove the filler flap from the hinge and remove the plunger from the flap.

3.

Remove the two bolts and the hinge from the car.

4.

Install the replacement hinge first, then install the flap.

NOTE:

Do not fully tighten as adjustment may be necessary.

5.

Adjust the flap to the opening by positioning it at the hinge and flap hardware. Tighten hardware.

6.

Install the replacement plunger and adjust plunger until the flap is flush with the body. Tighten the plunger lock nut. If necessary, readjust the
hinge and flap.
