4. NOTE:  When the tie-rod end is separated from the wheel hub assembly, the ball joint seal should be protected to prevent damage.

Using the special tool, detach the tie-rod end.

5. NOTE:  Make a note of the number of turns required to remove the tie-rod end.

Remove the tie-rod end.

Installation

1. NOTE:  Make sure the tie-rod end is installed on the tie-rod by the same amount of turns used to remove it.
