2. Verify the heat shields are attached to the air deflector:

(Figure 1)

If a heat shield(s) is missing, continue to step 3 with a new  air deflector (C2Z 4201).

If a heat shield(s) is partially attached, continue to step 3 with the original air deflector.

3. Using a 5mm drill bit, drill through the five welding points on the left-hand (LH) heat shield and air deflector. (Figure 2)

NOTE:

Ensure five rivets are installed in each heat shield / air deflector.

4. Using a suitable rivet gun, install five rivets (C2C 9428) through the heat shield into the air deflector. (Figure 3)

5. Repeat steps 3 and 4 to the right-hand (RH) heat shield.

6. Refer to Workshop Manual, section 501-02: Front End Body Panels > Removal and Installation > Air Deflector, and front the front air deflector.
