Engine Speed Sensor: Description and Operation
Construction
Engine speed is measured by the Engine speed sensor mounted behind the flywheel. This indicates the actual engine rotational speed to the ECM in
the form of 12 pulses per engine revolution. The engine speed is used for both fuel and ignition synchronization, as well as other functions.
