10. Pump the brake pedal several times to move the brake pads to their operating positions.

WARNING:  Application of the brake pedal must be carried out, as the brake will not operate efficiently until the pads are correctly
positioned.

11. Apply pressure to the brake pedal and inspect all connections.

Removal

1. Remove one wheel nut and mark the stud to wheel relationship, remove remaining nuts, and remove wheel/tire assembly.
2. Open the bonnet and place a cloth around the brake reservoir filler cap  neck to absorb any possible spillage.

3. Carefully remove the caliper retaining spring (1).
4. Partially unscrew the brake pipe to feed hose union nut.
5. Remove the caliper to carrier securing bolt covers (2). Remove the socket head securing bolts (3).
6. Remove the caliper from the carrier.
6. Remove the brake pads (4) from the caliper. Unscrew and remove the caliper from the feed hose. Fit suitable plugs to the caliper and hose. 
7. Cut and remove the lock wire securing the carrier to hub assembly securing bolts. Unscrew and remove the securing bolts. Remove the carrier.
8. Carefully remove any brake dust/dirt from the carrier and disc.

WARNING:  Brake pad/lining dust can contain asbestos which if inhaled, can damage your health. always use a vacuum brush to remove
dry brake pad/lining dust. Never use an air line.

Installation

1. Fit the carrier to the hub assembly and tighten the carrier securing bolts. 

2. Secure the carrier bolts with new lockwire.
3. Remove the plugs from the new caliper and the feed hose. Fit, but do not fully tighten the caliper to the feed hose.
4. Ensure the caliper piston on the new caliper is fully retracted and refit the brake pads.

NOTE:  If the pads are worn to the minimum thickness, new pads must be installed.

5. Position the caliper/pad assembly to the carrier. Lubricate, and install the caliper securing bolts. Tighten to 25 to 30 Nm (18.5 to 22.2 ft lb).
6. Fully tighten the feed hose to the caliper, tighten to 10 to 12 NM (7.4 to 8.9 ft lb).
7. Fully tighten the brake pipe to the feed hose union nut.
8. Install the caliper retaining spring.
9. Install the wheel/tire assembly, tighten wheel nuts to 88 to 102 NM (65.1 to 75.5 ft lb).
