Sedan Range
VIN

ISSUE:
A revised vacuum pipe and check valve assembly that provides consistent brake feel under all conditions, was introduced at VIN 731750. The revised
check valve can be identified by a grey and black housing, while the original housing was all black, Illustration 1.
ACTION:
If a customer complains of brake pedal effort that increases after a previous brake application that was normal, install a revised vacuum pipe and check
valve assembly.
1.
The connection of the vacuum pipe to the intake manifold is located as follows:
4.0L Normally Aspirated - Intake manifold on driver's side of engine below cruise control actuator.
4.0L Supercharged - Intake manifold on driver's side of engine.
V12 - Rear of B Bank intake manifold.
2.
Release the vacuum pipe at the intake manifold by using a flat bladed screwdriver to depress the retaining ring toward the manifold and then
pulling the pipe out.
NOTE:
The retaining ring remains in the intake manifold.
