P1111 System Readiness Flag Fails to Set - Reprogram ECM - Service Action S844

Issue:

A wiring harness change made at the introduction of 2003 MY on XKR vehicles prevents the P1111 OBD System Readiness flag from being set. This
will prevent the comprehensive component monitor (CCM) from successfully completing.

The failure to set the CCM could result in vehicles being rejected by Inspection and Maintenance (IM) stations during their periodic checks.

Action:

Reprogram the Engine Control Module (ECM) with the latest level of software and install a revised purge valve.

Note:

It is important that this Service Action is completed in conjunction with safety Recall Action R513 to ensure that the vehicle is only brought in once
for repair work.

WORKSHOP PROCEDURE

1.

To replace the purge valve, refer to Workshop Manual, section: 303-13, SRO 17.15.30.

2.

Open door.

3.

Ensure that the ignition is switched off, parking brake is on, and selector lever is in Park (P).

4.

Position WDS alongside the vehicle, switch WDS on and allow software to load.

Note:

WDS must be loaded with the latest issue of software.

5.

Use the diagnostic cable to connect the WDS to the vehicle DLC.

6.

Enter the VIN and navigate to the vehicle configuration main menu.

7.

Reprogram ECM.

8.

After successful reprogramming of ECM, switch off, disconnect, and return the WDS to the original location.

9.

Close door.
