Coolant Pump - Vehicles Without: Supercharger
Removal

1. Remove the cover and disconnect the battery ground cable.

2. WARNING: Since injury such as scalding could be caused by escaping steam or coolant, do not remove the filler cap from the coolant

expansion tank while the system is hot.

Drain the cooling system.

3. Remove the thermostat housing.
4. Loosen the 3 coolant pump pulley bolts.
5. Release the accessory drive belt.

> Release the tension from the belt.

6. Remove the coolant pump drive pulley.

> Remove the 3 bolts.

7. Remove the coolant pump.

> Remove the 5 bolts.
> Discard the gasket.

Installation

1. Install the coolant pump.

> Clean the component mating faces.
> Install a new gasket.
> Tighten the 5 bolts to 8 Nm (6 lb.ft), then a further 90 degrees.

2. Install the coolant pump drive pulley.

> Install, and lightly tighten the bolts.

3. Install the accessory drive belt.
4. Tighten the pulley bolts to 10 Nm (7 lb.ft), then a further 45 degrees.
5. Install the thermostat housing.

7. Connect the battery ground cable and install the cover.
