Electrical System Architecture
XK Electrical System Architecture
The XK system "architecture" incorporates two data networks: a controller area network (CAN) for the engine, drive train and related systems, and a
standard corporate protocol network (SCP) for the body systems. Any vehicle subsystem depicted on the figures with the CAN or SCP included uses data
derived from the network, or transmits data via the network to achieve control. Messages for both networks are cataloged in Computers and Controls /
Information Bus / Description and Operation.
When appropriate, the user will be referred to these messages by a note on the Data page. In addition to the two networks, the XK uses a serial data bus
(ISO) for diagnostics and for the programming of certain control modules.
The XK uses both power and logic grounds; however, it does not use a common logic ground stud connection as in previous vehicles.
