Service Procedure
1.
Pinch off the rear flexible brake hose with vise grip pliers, being careful not to damage the hose.
2.
Disconnect the left rear brake tube fittings at the tee connector and at the wheel and remove the tube.
3.
Install the supplied new tube.
4.
Remove the vise grip pliers.
5.
Starting at the left side, bleed both rear wheel brake wheel cylinders.

SAFETY RECALL - LEFT REAR BRAKE TUBE
Dear Chrysler Corporation Vehicle Owner:
This notice is sent to you in accordance with the requirements of the National Traffic and Motor Vehicle Safety Act.
Chrysler Corporation has determined that a defect which relates to motor vehicle safety exists in some 1991 model Jeep Cherokee vehicles. Your Jeep,
whose Vehicle Identification Number is shown on the enclosed form, is one of the affected vehicles. For this reason we ask that you arrange for service
to correct the condition without delay. The service and required parts as described in this letter will be provided free of charge.
The defect involves the brake hydraulic system on affected vehicles. The left rear brake tube may be collapsed by contact with the suspension jounce
bumper. If this occurs, it will cause loss of braking at the left rear wheel. In that case, the distance needed to stop the vehicle will be longer. Complete
loss of braking will not occur because the brakes on the remaining wheels will continue to work. However, in some cases, the increased stopping distance
could result in a crash without prior warning.
To correct this problem, a modified left rear brake tube must be installed. This will take about one-half hour to complete. However, additional time may
be required depending on how dealer appointments are scheduled and processed. To obtain this free service:

Contact your dealer as soon as possible to schedule an appointment for the service.

Take the enclosed Owner Recall Notification Form with you at the time of your appointment and give it to your dealer. The form identifies the
vehicle and recall for which service is required.
If you have any problem obtaining the needed service, please contact the Chrysler Zone Service Office in your area. (It is listed under "Service
Assistance" in your Owner's Manual.) A Zone representative will arrange for prompt servicing of your vehicle.
