Control Arm: Service and Repair
UPPER ARM
1. On V6 equipped vehicles, disconnect right side engine mount, then raise engine until rear bolt is clear of exhaust pipe.
2. On all vehicles, raise and support vehicle, then remove control arm to axle attaching nuts and bolts.
3. Remove control arm to frame rail attaching bolt.
4. Remove control arm from vehicle.
5. Reverse procedure to install. Torque attaching nuts and bolts onto axle to 55 ft. lbs. and frame rail attaching nuts and bolts to 66 ft. lbs.
LOWER ARM
1. Raise and support vehicle.
2. Remove control arm to axle and control arm to rear bracket attaching nuts and bolts.
3. Remove control arm from vehicle.
4. Reverse procedure to install. Torque attaching nuts and bolts to 133 ft. lbs.
