Oil Pan: Service and Repair

1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Disconnect right side exhaust pipe from manifold, then raise and support vehicle.
3. Drain oil pan.
4. Disconnect left side exhaust pipe from manifold, then remove starter motor.
5. Remove transmission housing inspection cover.
6. Disconnect exhaust pipe at catalytic converter flange, then lower ``Y'' pipe onto upper control arms.
7. Remove oil pan retaining bolts, then the oil pan and gasket.
8. Reverse procedure to install. Before installing oil pan thoroughly clean all sealing surfaces, then apply a 1/8 inch bead of RTV sealant or
equivalent to entire oil pan sealing flange.
