1. Remove timing case cover as outlined previously, then position No. 1 piston at TDC until marks on camshaft and crankshaft sprockets align as
shown in Fig. 17.
2. Remove camshaft sprocket retaining bolts, then the sprockets and timing chain.
3. Install timing chain on sprockets, then hold camshaft sprocket vertically to allow timing chain to hang downward. Align timing marks on sprockets
as shown in Fig. 17.
4. Align dowel pin on camshaft with dowel pinhole on camshaft sprocket, then install sprockets onto camshaft and crankshaft.
5. Install camshaft sprocket retaining bolts and torque to 17 ft. lbs.
6. Lubricate timing chain, then install timing case cover as previously outlined.
