27. Using tool J-23653-A or equivalent, compress lock plate and install snap ring onto steering shaft.
28. Install tilt and turn signal levers.
29. Install lock cylinder as follows:
a. Insert ignition key into lock cylinder.
b. Hold lock cylinder sleeve and turn key clockwise against stop.
c. Align tab on cylinder with housing keyway, then insert cylinder into housing.
d. Rotate counterclockwise until cylinder mates with lock sector, then push inward until retainer snaps into position.
30. Install ignition switch as follows:
a. Insert ignition key, then place lock cylinder in "Off-Unlock" position.
b. Position switch slider to "Accessory", then back off two clicks to "Off-Unlock" position.
c. Insert remote rod into switch slider hole, then install switch onto column jacket.
d. Move switch downward until remote rod to switch lash is eliminated, then torque switch retaining screws to 35 inch lbs.
31. Install dimmer switch. Depress switch slightly, then install a 3/32 inch drill bit to lock switch to body. Move switch upward to remove lash
between switch and pivot, then torque switch retaining screws to 35 inch lbs.
32. Position switch harness protectors, if equipped, over harness, then snap protectors into position on column.
33. Install lock plate cover and steering wheel. Torque steering wheel retaining nut to 25 ft. lbs., then install horn cover.
