Seat Heater Relay: Service and Repair

REMOVAL

WARNING:  THERE ARE MANY SHARP METAL EDGES ON THE SEAT CUSHION FRAME AND SEAT ADJUSTER RAILS UNDER
THE SEAT. WHEN PERFORMING THIS SERVICE, A LONG-SLEEVED SHIRT AND GLOVES SHOULD BE WORN IN ORDER TO
AVOID UNNECESSARY CUTS AND ABRASIONS TO EXPOSED SKIN.

1. Move the right side power seat track to its full up and full rear stop positions.
2. Disconnect and isolate the battery negative cable.
3. Disengage the front seat cushion trim cover retainer from the seat cushion frame and pull back the seat cushion cover.
4. Pull back the seat cushion far enough to access the heated seat relay.
5. Pull the heated seat relay upward to release the plastic push-in fastener from the mounting hole in the power seat track front bracket
6. Disconnect the power seat wire harness connector from the heated seat relay connector receptacle.
7. Remove the heated seat relay from the power seat track front bracket under the front of the right seat cushion.

INSTALLATION

THE SEAT. WHEN PERFORMING THIS SERVICE, A LONG-SLEEVED SHIRT AND GLOVES SHOULD BE WORN IN ORDER TO
AVOID UNNECESSARY CUTS AND ABRASIONS TO EXPOSED SKIN.

1. Reconnect the power seat wire harness connector to the heated seat relay connector receptacle. Be certain that the cavities in the power seat wire

harness connector are aligned with the terminals in the heated seat relay connector receptacle before pushing the connector firmly into place.

2. Pull back the right front seat cushion far enough to install the heated seat relay to the power seat track front bracket.
3. Position the heated seat relay to the power seat track front bracket under the front of the right front seat cushion.
4. Align the heated seat relay fastener to the mounting hole in the power seat track front bracket.
5. Press the heated seat relay firmly and evenly downward until the fastener is fully seated in the power seat track front bracket mounting hole.
6. Pull the front seat cushion trim cover firmly and evenly back over the front of the seat cushion far enough to engage the retainer onto the seat

cushion frame.

7. Reconnect the battery negative cable.
