Remove the yoke attaching nut and remove the rubber washer and yoke.

Remove the yoke seal from the transfer case.
9.
With good lighting, inspect the snap ring used to retain the front output shaft bearing in the case (Figure 2). Confirm that the snap ring is fully
engaged -- necessary, use a screw driver to engage an unseated snap ring.

10.
Install a new, supplied yoke seal in the case.
11.
Clean and lubricate the seal surface of the yoke and reinstall the yoke on the output shaft.
12.
Install a new, supplied rubber washer over the output shaft.
13.
Install the yoke nut and tighten to 149 N-m (110 ft.lbs.).
14.
Reinstall the front drive shaft in the previously marked position, tightening the bolts to 19 N-m (14 ft.lbs.).
15.
Reinstall the drain plug and tighten to 47 N-m (35 ft.lbs.).
16.
Fill the transfer case -- to the bottom of the fill hole -- with Dexron II automatic transmission fluid.
17.
Reinstall the fill plug and tighten to 47 N-m (35 ft.lbs.).
18.
Reinstall the crossmember below the transfer case, tightening the retaining bolts to 41 N-m (30 ft.lbs.).
19.
Reinstall the skid plate, if so equipped, tightening the retaining bolts to 41 N-m (30 ft.lbs.).
20.
Remove the transmission support stand.
21.
Lower the vehicle.

submitted will be used by Chrysler to record recall service completions and provide dealer payments.
Enter only one VIN per claim on a WRO. Fill in the labor operation number and time allowance and write on the WRO "Customer Satisfaction
Notification # 277T -- 4-WD Transfer Case." Do not enter other service claims on the same WRO.
