Position the dampener on the steering shaft so that the extruded holes on the dampener mate with the threaded holes in the steering wheel, Figure
3.
7.
Install the steering wheel retaining nut and torque nut to 25 ft.lbs. (34 N-m).
8.
Connect the horn wires to the cover contact switch, install cover.
NOTE:
IT MAY BE NECESSARY TO BEND THE UPPER CONTACT SWITCH TERMINAL UPWARD TO PROVIDE
SUFFICIENT CLEARANCE BETWEEN IT AND THE VIBRATION DAMPENER.
9.
Connect the battery negative cable.
10.
Test horn and reset clock, if equipped.

This repair involves the replacement of the steering wheel and installing a vibration dampener.
1.
Disconnect the battery negative cable.
2.
Remove the horn button by pulling it outward.
