REPAIR PROCEDURE:
This procedure involves replacement of the A/C suction line with a revised A/C line that does not transmit or amplify compressor noise.
1.
Discharge the air conditioning system as described in the appropriate Jeep Electrical, Heating-A/C & Emissions Service Manual.
NOTE:
REFRIGERANT RECOVERY IS REQUIRED IN CERTAIN AREAS.
2.
Replace the A/C suction line using the appropriate part from the above parts list.
**Position the convolute tubing on the new A/C hose to protect against contact with the Power Distribution Center.**
**VERIFY THAT THE BOTTOM OF THE A/C SUCTION LINE IS NOT CONTACTING THE RELAY AT THE FRONT OF THE POWER
DISTRIBUTION CENTER. TO PREVENT THIS CONTACT, ROTATE THE VALVE ON THE COMPRESSOR UPWARD, SO THAT THE
A/C SUCTION LINE HAS 1/2 INCH CLEARANCE. DO NOT ALLOW THE A/C HOSE OR CONVOLUTE TUBING TO CONTACT THE
RELAY.**
3.
Charge the A/C system and verify A/C system operation.
