SYMPTOM/CONDITION
Some 1987 Jeep Cherokee, Wagoneer and Comanche vehicles equipped with the Dana Model 44 rear axle (10 x 2-1/2 in. brakes), may experience a
squeak/squeal noise from the rear brakes under light to moderate application.
DIAGNOSIS
Verify the customer complaint and verify the vehicle is equipped with the Model 44 axle. See Figure 1 for axle identification by housing cover.
