The A/C suction line (2) is the refrigerant line that carries refrigerant from the A/C evaporator to the A/C compressor (3). The A/C suction line is
retained onto the A/C expansion valve (1) by a tapping plate (4), which also secures the A/C liquid line (8). Models equipped with the rear heating-A/C
system include an extension tube (5) that connects the suction line to the underbody suction line (7) by use of a tapping block (6).
CAUTION: Use only O-ring seals specified for the vehicle. Failure to use the correct O-ring seal will cause the refrigerant system connections to leak.
The A/C suction line has no serviceable parts except for the rubber O-ring seals. The O-ring seals used on the connections are made from a special type
of rubber not affected by R-134a refrigerant. The O-ring seals must be replaced whenever the suction line is removed and installed.
If the A/C suction line is found to be leaking or is damaged, it must be replaced.

DESCRIPTION
Models equipped with the rear heating-A/C system use a metal underbody line assembly (1) to carry refrigerant and engine coolant to/and from the rear
A/C evaporator and heater core. The underbody refrigerant lines are connected to the front suction and liquid lines by use of metal fittings (2) and to the
rear A/C expansion valve by use of a tapping plate. The metal underbody heater lines have rubber hose ends that are connected to the rear HVAC
housing by use of spring-clamp type heater hose clamps. The underbody lines are retained by plastic mounting brackets (3) and screws and can be
repaired (depending on the amount of damage) by using Miller Special Tool Kit 8456-A or equivalent.

refrigerant line connections are made from a special type of rubber not affected by R-134a refrigerant. The O-ring seals must be replaced whenever the
underbody refrigerant lines are disconnected or removed.
