Temperature Gauge: Testing and Inspection
1. Check for an open in B+ line to cluster connector terminal D9. If D9 has battery voltage continue with next step, if not repair circuit as required.
2. Turn ignition switch to Run position and disconnect coolant temperature sensor connector; needle should go to low end of gauge.
3. Touch coolant temperature sender connector to ground; needle should go to high end of gauge. If satisfactory, replace sender; if not, check for an
open between sender and gauge.
4. If wiring between sender and gauge is satisfactory, replace gauge.
