SYMPTOM/CONDITION
The procedure for replacing the windshield wiper shaft body and linkage, as printed in the 1989 Jeep Technical Service Manual (P/N 81-370-9046), has
been revised for all 1989 model year vehicles. The revision is necessary due to changes in the defroster duct. Please make a note on page 8K-21 of the
1989 Jeep Service Manual.
REPAIR PROCEDURE
Wiper Pivot Shaft Body and Linkage Replacement
1.
Disconnect the battery negative cable.
2.
Remove the left wiper arm, pivot shaft nut, washer, escutcheon, and gasket.
3.
Remove the right wiper arm, pivot shaft nut, washer, escutcheon, and gasket.
