About the Liberty
The Liberty replaced the XJ Cherokee and was sold from 2002 to 2012, priced between the Wrangler and Grand Cherokee; outside North America it was called the Cherokee. Both generations, the KJ and the KK, were built at Toledo North, the KK alongside the closely related Dodge Nitro.
What these manuals cover
- 2002–2006 (KJ): the 2.4-litre four, the 3.7-litre V6 and the 2.8-litre turbo diesel.
- 2008–2009 (KK): the 3.7-litre V6.
Tip: the second-generation Liberty is closely related to the Dodge Nitro.
