Power Steering Pump: Service and Repair
Power Steering Pump Pulley - Installation
GAS
CAUTION: Do not reuse the old power steering pump pulley it is not intended for reuse. A new pulley must be installed if removed.
1. Replace the pulley (2) if it's bent, cracked, or loose.
2. Install the pulley (2) on the pump (1) using (OTC (R) 7771) power steering pulley installation tool or equivalent (3) making sure it is flush with the
end of the shaft. Ensure the tool and pulley remain aligned with the pump shaft.
3. Install the air box assembly See: Engine, Cooling and Exhaust/Engine/Tune-up and Engine Performance Checks/Air Cleaner Housing/Air Filter
Element/Service and Repair/Installation.
4. Install power steering belt. See: Engine, Cooling and Exhaust/Engine/Drive Belts, Mounts, Brackets and Accessories/Drive Belt/Service and
Repair/Removal and Replacement/Accessory Drive Belt - Installation
5. Install the fan shroud.
6. Install the washer/coolant reservoir assembly.
7. Install air cleaner housing. See: Engine, Cooling and Exhaust/Engine/Tune-up and Engine Performance Checks/Air Cleaner Housing/Air Filter
