Liberty 4WD L4-2.4L DOHC VIN 1 (2005)
SPECIAL TOOLS/EQUIPMENT REQUIRED:
REPAIR PROCEDURE:
1.
Raise vehicle on a suitable lift.
2.
Remove both left and right rear tire and wheel assemblies.
3.
Remove the left and right rear brake caliper assemblies.
4.
Remove the brake pads from both caliper assemblies.
5.
Remove the slippers from the brake anchor rails on both sides of the vehicle.
6.
Machine both rear brake rotor surfaces with an on-vehicle brake lathe.
NOTE:
DO NOT use an off-vehicle brake lathe to machine rotors. DO NOT replace brake rotors unless final rotor thickness and run-outs are not longer
within specification.
7.
Clean the caliper-to-brake pad surfaces.
8.
Install revised caliper slippers onto the brake anchor rails by centering and snapping into place.
9.
Install the appropriate revised rear brake pads listed in the Parts Required section in each rear caliper.
10.
Install both calipers into position, install and torque the caliper bolts to 25 Nm (18 ft. lbs.).
