Cross-Member: Service and Repair
Crossmember - Removal
Transmission
REMOVAL
1. Remove the transmission skid plate See: Skid Plate/Service and Repair/Skid Plate - Removal.
2. Remove the transfer case skid plate See: Skid Plate/Service and Repair/Skid Plate - Removal.
3. Support the transmission with a suitable lifting device.
4. Remove the four transmission mount nuts from the crossmember.
5. Remove the six bolts (2) and remove the crossmember (1).
Front Suspension
REMOVAL
1. Install engine support tool 8534B or equivalent.
