Move the shift lever into 4L position.

Insert a 3 mm (1/8 inch) spacer between the shift lever and the edge of the shift lever gate (Figure 1). Secure the lever and spacer in place
with tape or wire.

Raise vehicle on hoist.
5.
Disengage the shift rod from the shift arm and bellcrank and remove the rod and trunnion assembly (Figure 2).
6.
Install the supplied shift rod to the shift arm and bellcrank, leaving the trunnion loose to allow the rod to slide freely.
7.
Verify that the transfer case lever has not moved and is still held against the spacer in the 4L position.
8.
Tighten the trunnion lock bolt (Figure 2).
9.
Lower the vehicle.
10.
Remove the shift lever spacer and install the lever bezel.
