Wagoneer L6-258 4.2L VIN C 2-bbl (1982)
Camshaft: Service and Repair
1.
Disconnect battery ground cable.
2.
Drain cooling system.
3.
Remove air conditioner condenser and receiver assembly as a unit if equipped.
4.
Remove radiator and fan assembly.
5.
Remove fuel pump, distributor and spark plug wires.
6.
Remove cylinder head cover.
7.
Remove rocker arm, bridge and pivot assembly.
8.
Remove pushrods. Ensure to install rocker arms, bridge, pivot and pushrod assemblies in their original locations.
9.
Remove cylinder head and gasket.
10.
Remove valve lifters.
11.
Remove timing case cover, timing chain and sprockets.
12.
Remove front bumper or grille.
13.
Remove camshaft front engine.
14.
Reverse procedure to install. During installation of distributor, rotate crankshaft until No. 1 piston is at TDC of compression stroke. Install
distributor with rotor aligned with No. 1 terminal on distributor cap when distributor is completely seated on block.
