Wagoneer L6-258 4.2L VIN C 2-bbl (1982)
LEAF SPRING MOUNTED ABOVE AXLE
1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Raise and support vehicle.
3. Position a suitable jack under axle, then raise axle slightly.
4. Remove tie plate U-bolts.
5. Remove bolt attaching spring rear eye to shackle.
6. Remove bolt attaching spring front eye to frame mounting bracket.
7. Remove spring from vehicle.
8. Reverse procedure to install.
LEAF SPRING MOUNTED BELOW AXLE
1. Raise and support vehicle.
2. If left side leaf spring requires service, remove fuel tank skid plate, if necessary.
3. Position a suitable jack under axle, then raise axle slightly.
4. Disconnect shock absorber from mounting bracket.
5. Remove wheel assembly.
6. Remove tie plate U-bolts and tie plate.
7. Remove bolt attaching spring rear eye to shackle.
8. Remove bolt attaching spring front eye to frame rail bracket.
9. Remove spring from vehicle.
10. Reverse procedure to install.
