Manual Steering Gear Replacement
REMOVAL
1. Raise and support vehicle.
2. Remove tie rod from pitman arm with puller.
3. Remove pitman arm with Remover C-4150A, or equivalent.
4. Remove gear mounting bolts and remove gear.
INSTALLATION
1. Install gear on frame rail and install mounting bolts.
2. Tighten mounting bolts to 95 Nm (70 ft. lbs.).
3. Install pitman arm and tighten mounting nut to 251 Nm (185 ft. lbs.).
4. Install tie rod end on pitman arm and tighten nut to 74 Nm (56 ft. lbs.). Install cotter pin.
5. Remove support and lower vehicle.
